How To Get A Verified Paypal Account In Nigeria

Posted by Udegbunam Chukwudi Under Payment Processors On September 9, 2009 23 COMMENTS

Let it be known that it’s illegal as a Nigerian, to own a Verified PayPal account but if you insist on getting one, by all means keep reading this post.

I have a Verified PayPal account BUT so far I haven’t summoned the courage to use it @ all . Find out why @ this blog post; Which Is Better? PayPal or 2CheckOut.

I got my PayPal Business Account verified by Henry Omenogor in almost a month after payment of 6,000 Naira. The process was quite simple.

  1. You google for an address in a PayPal accepted country e.g google “Benin Republic address”. On the results page, find a website that has a Benin Republic address and copy the address.
  2. Go to Paypal and sign up for a Verified Business Account using a modified* version of the Benin Republic address you got from Google. Modified* means change the house number or street address.
  3. In the end, you’ll be asked to verify your account using a Credit or Debit Card preferably the PayPal Plus Card (PPC). Here’s where the services of Henry Omenogor comes it.
  4. You place a call to either of the following numbers and request details of paying for a PayPal Plus Card. The numbers are Ayo 07025825797; Yemi 07025825796 and Henry: 08027246021.
  5. NOTE: Do not make the mistake of ordering the book on that page that goes by the title, Revealed!! How To Own & Verify Your PayPal Even If Your Country Is Not Listed. It’s crap! After reading it, you will still need to order the PPC from them. Make this mistake and you’ll definitely end up paying more than 6,000 Naira for a Verified PayPal Account.
  6. Once you’ve made payment and it has been verified by Henry’s staff, you will need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks to get the number of card in your email.
  7. When the number arrives, log on to your previously created Unverified PayPal account and fill in the details of the card for verification to take place.
  8. A 4 pin code, if I remember clearly well, will be sent to the owner of the PayPal Plus Card (Henry Omenogor). This number will be forwarded to your email account and using it on your Unverified Paypal account makes it Verified and ready for unlimited transactions.

Like I said before, I DON’T endorse getting a PayPal account if you ain’t on the list of approved countries. They can be quite nasty.

At a forum someone once said :

Paypal has caused the downfall of thousands of online businesses and destroyed countless people’s reputations.

They freeze peoples accounts for no apparent reason and it’s estimated less than 10% of people EVER get their money back!

PayPal does this to make interest off the money in the frozen account. Search the internet and read it for your self!

I couldn’t agree less with him. It’s the sad truth so as we say over here in Nigeria; “Shine Your Eyes Well Well” before dining with PayPal.

So there you have it. A QUICK and ILLEGAL way of getting a Verified Paypal Account in Nigeria.

The above said, I’ve bought two of his products without any problems EXCEPT for the extra 2 weeks delay in getting my PayPal Plus Card.

I love the way you presented this. I totally agree with you that it is quite a lot of headache and heartache dining with PayPal. I’ve got some fund hanging in a PayPal account that I was using. I didn’t opened an illegal account though, I was using the account of a friend. Eventually, the account was frozen because of my IP address. I guess PayPal is just a necessary evil. Have you heard of ALERTPAY? It is open to Nigerians only that it is not as popular as PayPal. You can get more information about it at my site. Nice post.

    • @NaijaEcash: I researched Alert Pay months ago when I was looking for a payment processor but then I decided to settle with 2 CheckOut. I can’t remember clearly well why I decided to burst AlertPay. At least with 2CheckOut I can process payment from PayPal users. Can AlertPay do that as well?

  2. Jacko says:

why is it all you scammer nigerians are always trying to scam people? you know why you cannot have a paypal verfied account – because PayPal knows that all the scammers and fraud people are from NIGERIA.

  3. …and to think that this dude is from India.

  4. I was actually referring to the Jacko guy who in his opinion thinks all Nigerians are scammers.

  5. Felix says:

It’s funny you said it’s illegal and yet are doing it.

  6. Chuks’ the truth is that no one can really say he or she is doing something usefull online that person has no PayPal account. From making payment, receiving payment or making subscriptions you can’t just survive without it. On the topic, which do i prefer? Ordinarily i should pick 2checkout since PayPal does not accept Nigeria. But after my last experience with 2checkout, i will not touch them with a 6 foot pool. I made payment of $250 and everything went well and i was so happy it work since i was just trying out my new Mastercard i got from Zenith Bank.
@4 hrs later i still have not received what i paid for. I now had to write to the website’s support who then told me that they were instructed by 2checkout not to honour my order.

I got very angry and wrote to 2checkout. I was told they could not process it because i am using the card from a high risk region and so flag as fraud. Nothing can be so annoying. It wasn’t really a problem until what i am about to tell you.

I then asked for a refund and was told they money has been refunded and should credit my MasterCard within a 48 hrs. It took one month before that money was returned to my card and by now, i have wasted time and lost a very valuable client. So my take here is, rather than go through travails, if you can not get your own PayPal account, use trusted people who have one to make your payment and save yourself the agony.

    • Please do know that I ordered for my 2CO account with Zenith’s Websurfer. The 1 month wait for your refund was caused by Zenith not 2CO as when I had the same issue with Hostgator, I contacted Zenith Bank and they told me that was the way the cards were configured. All refunds will appear in your account after 30 days.
What I’ve been doing ever since is to contact any merchant I want to buy from, with scanned copies of my international passport and mastercard. Once they give me the go ahead, I place my order and it’s never rejected ;-)

  7. The fool is a real d***head.
I know more Indian, Pakistani and Russian internet scammers than i know my A,B,C,D.

  8. Allow the guy bros. Him no know say scammers wey strong pass Nigerians dey.

    • I’ve stopped by your blog on occasion but didn’t leave a comment ’cause the comment form took forever to load (Another reason why I ain’t down with Blogger blogs). You sure do are a testimony to the fact that there’s money to be made without PayPal.

My only beef with nigerian marketers is that most of them sell things they’ve NEVER tried in their lives.

  16. @ Oboneblog
you do have a point there. There is so much craze for this paypal but i understand. The thing is, you will one way or the other finding yourself, needing to use paypal whether you like it or not.
You see, everyone can not do adsense. And even if you want to do adsense, it is nice to have a multiple stream, that way, you will end up needing to either receive money or make payment with paypal.
