Tweety Mail = Twittering Made Easy Via Email

Tweety Mail

Unlike on Facebook, keeping track of my twitter conversations has never been easy not to talk of tracking my retweets. If you were sending any message my way other than a direct message, you were sure to NEVER receive a reply from me or receive a late reply.

The above happened cos I wasn’t receiving notifications of the messages except for the direct messages of course. Recently I discovered Tweety Mail and life on Twitterland has been much sweeter ;) .

Tweety Mail created by Anil Chawla is quite easy to setup thus I won’t be wasting much of your precious time.

Simply sign up for Tweety Mail, link your email address(es) to Tweety Mail and select which Email alerts you want to receive and you’re done.

Depending on what function you want to use, your tweets(emails) have to be sent to specific Tweety Mail addresses as shown in the capture below. A detailed user guide is present as well to guide you.

Tweety Mail Addresses

Stay up-to-date and harness the beauty of Twitter by signing up for Tweety Mail today. I sure do hope this project of Anil Chawla’s lasts a very long time and keeps growing as the opposite seems to be the trend with past applications that offered services similar to this one.

Please support Anil Chawla by retweeting this post or tweeting about Tweety Mail. Thanks ;) .

Interesting… I never heard of Tweety Mail until now. I always just click on the @Bloggertalk. I guess if you get a lot of people talking to you it might be hard to keep up. I’m not so popular on Twitter.

    • I ain’t so popular on twitter either but I hardly open up the twitter page on my laptop. Twittering via email makes things easier as I check my email quite frequently. ;) Funny enough, Twitter doesn’t seem to record people’s retweets of my blog posts. Tweety Mail catches them all and that kind of baffles me.

  2. If you have a lo of tweets, would this help consolidate them?

    • Unfortunately it doesn’t consolidate the tweets! :( They are delivered as soon as they occur on twitter. I’ll write the author a message and see what he has to say about the chance of adding this feature to the application.

  3. Cool tool,, but I get so much email now.. this would jsut be silly with 40,000 followers..lol

    • ROFLMAO! The application is definitely not for peeps who converse a lot on twitter. My conversations are minimal so it works for me. I can just picture having over 1000 tweets in my inbox. Serious Confusion! lol

Twitter doesn’t seem to record people’s retweets of my blog posts. Don’t know why.

  5. I really am finding the whole twitter experience quite confusing!! Wouldn’t using this service mean that you would be inundated with every last twitter message?

  6. Cool tool…. #NOTE: Facebook also allow you to instant reply/comment on activities you receive reports from.

    #Simple:
Just reply the notification mail that was sent to you with your comment and it will be added on the parent activity. ;) I’ve used it so many times.

    Keep up the good work.

  8. Thanks for this post – just wanted to clarify that tweetymail DOES consolidate tweets. You can create alerts for search terms or tweets from the people you follow, and those alerts can consolidate up to 50 tweets in one email. The only time tweetymail does not consolidate tweets is when sending you an alert for a mention so that you get it as soon as possible – although we will look at adding the option for you popular folks :-)

  9. NO NO NO! :-) tweetymail is not intended for receiving every single tweet in your email. Rather, it gives you the *option* to create alerts for *specific* tweets that you want to receive in your email. I think Udegbunam primarily uses the mentions alert — in that case, yes you do receive each individual tweet as a separate email. However, for the vast majority of users, receiving a mention happens very seldomly. For other types of tweets, you can create search terms/filters and ask tweetymail to accumulate up to 50 tweets into a single email. Finally, tweetymail provides several useful features that let you use Twitter from your email without receiving tweets at all.

I never heard about Tweety mail, but it sounds reasonable. Thank you for this post, as well as, many thanks to Anil for clarification.

Thanks man but all I need right now is any application that can notify me of replies or mentions without hassles and Tweety Mail does that for me ;-)
