How To Get Relevant Adsense Ads In Blogger Blogs

Some time ago I blogged about using section targeting to increase the relevancy of the ads that appear on our blogs but this is a lot more tricky for Blogger blogs

For section targeting, to work excellently well on Blogger blogs, there’s need to give full access to Google’s adsense bot and some of us are quite clueless on how to achieve this without a robots.txt file.

A quick and easy fix to this is to add a meta tag to the template. I modified Gaurav Akrani’s Duplicate Content Cure to achieve this.

The above code is embedded immediately before the tag <b:skin> in your blogger template and it’s functioning is to prevent the search engine bots from indexing your blogger blog’s home and archive pages while @ the same time allowing Google Adsense bots crawl the entirety of your blogger blog.

It’s a way of evading Google’s duplicate content penalty while showing relevant adsense ads on blogger blogs .
