Make Money Online Nigeria & Blog Posts Of The Week 13

Posted by Udegbunam Chukwudi on June - 4 - 2010

Last week was such a bore and I was so uninspired to go through my FeedDemon. That’s the reason why last week Friday’s top blog posts didn’t make an appearance.

This week, as always, I went back to modifying my theme again ;-) . Some things had to go and some had to stay while other’s had to be brought in.

Of all the modifications, I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve finally found use for the first page of my domain name. I had published a page titled "The Ultimate Make Money Online Nigeria Guide" some weeks back and up till last week, the traffic to that page had been minimal thus I decided to transform it into the home page for StrictlyOnlineBiz and I succeeded using HTML via Dreamweaver ;-)

In the past few days, I’ve also been commenting heavily on dofollow blogs to get that page ranking as soon, as possible as it seems I’ll have to rely heavily on the search engines to up the traffic to that page.

I hope this week has been a good one for you guys. Here are this week’s hot posts.

23 Finalists have been chosen in Dennis Edell’s Aweber Affiliate Link Grab Contest. Now the contest gets tougher as they all have to write a review of Aweber and the winning review will be that which Dennis likes the most. We’re talking lifetime commissions here, the ultimate passive income so the contestants have got a lot to hustle for (no pun intended). Gail, the Social Media Marketing Strategist has added an offer of free dofollow backlinks of the best reviews on her PR4 blog.

Growmap provides a insight into how to use the new Commentluv default Links to increase your SERP rankings. Did you know that if your posts appear on the first pages of Google but don’t get clicked, they may drop down because Google’s algorithm will decide they are not relevant? I learned that from How to Select Your Own Anchor Text Using Default Links.

I don’t understand why you want a fixed homepage rather than the usual blog. I’ve only done that on one site, which I do not update regularly, so it’s more like a traditional static website.

You are updating regularly, so why not celebrate that and keep your homepage fresh?

Also, I get the impression that money is not your main purpose in life, so why dedicate your main page to money? Yes, we all need it, and it’s nice to spend it, but it’s only there to make pleasure more accessible. Why worship it?

Surely a focus on “I blog for fun and out of the need to help people avoid wasting their money” would make more sense?

Sorry if you’ve spent a lot of time improving your site, but I never saw what it was like before. Keep up the good work.

    • It was never my intention to have a fixed homepage. When I set up the site the front page was set up as a sales page and then I installed the blog in another folder. As time when by the front page was no longer needed and I tore it down. It’s been “useless” for quite a while until now when I found a way of using the same blog theme to style it and make it relevant to the rest of the site

I decided to dedicate the main page to money cos really that has always been the reason for setting up the site. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t worship money. If I did believe me you, I would have joined the bandwagon of shameless beings who go about proclaiming that they make $500 daily in surveys when in reality they don’t ;-) .

Thanks for dropping by and I see if you’ve been reading my about page ;-)

Actually, that makes sense. I read your home page after I had read your about page, and it didn’t seem quite right, but I guess most people will read the home page – and it’s pretty clear that you are trying to help people avoid the scams.

That is very close to my heart. I’m currently working on a method for people to avoid getting ripped off by sitesell by creating a better method. I’m developing an easy-to-follow method that gives people a way to create a web business without getting conned into a system that locks you in to outdated technology and overpriced, under-qualified support. It’s a slow process, but I’m hoping to get a basic version finished this year.

    • Looking forward to the launch of your own version of Sitesell. Reviews I’ve read online about the site haven’t been favourable @ all. Site Build It Scam Review and Update on “Site Build It Scam” Post
