Not everybody needs to buy hosting from a reseller and in continuation you’ll get to learn the top 3 recommended uses of hosting offered by webhosting resellers.

  1. Testing The Waters: Quite a number of folks complain about having wasted top dollar on hosting they never actually needed in the first place. Most of them decided to set up blogs or websites in the hope of making money from them but after a few months they decided it was all hard work with nothing to show for it and so they backed out leaving a great loss. If you’re launching  a product as a nobody or fairly known somebody in the internet marketing circle, I don’t advice you go spend as much as $100 on hosting. $10 would definitely get the job done with storage space of say 100MB and monthly bandwidth of 1GB. Assuming your e-product is between 1 – 5MB in size and your sales page less than 1MB, the above hosting plan should be enough to handle all your traffic during the sale period. Please note: If you plan to continue selling this product way past the launch, you’re better off buying hosting from the big guys. Unless you know and trust your hosting vendor 100%, I don’t endorse webhosting resellers for longtime web projects simply because there’s this “I MIGHT CLOSE SHOP AT ANYTIME” factor surrounding them.
  3. Blog/Website Flipping: Web hosting reseller hosting is a low cost solution for those of you involved in setting up blogs/sites cheap and selling them off @ 5 – 10 times their worth.     I’ve only used Hostgator’s reseller account, but I can’t speak highly enough for their customer service.

    I’ve only had a handful of problems/questions, but every time I did there was always somebody available on their live chat to help me out.

    Usually dealing with customer support is a pain because the personnel don’t have much of an idea of what they’re doing, but hostgator’s support seem to always be pretty knowledgeable about their services.
