Your Blog Is Filled With Short Posts & Affiliate Links

This is the second (or third I think) time I’m hearing this from a visitor/reader of this blog and right now I’m wondering how many readers have thought so too thus my wanting to address this issue once and for all.

StrictlyOnlineBiz is NOT all about short posts and mucho affiliate links. If those of you who think this way, care enough to study this blog in detail, you’ll notice that 90% of my affiliate links lead to the download of FREE Ebooks and not PAID Ebooks.

I’m not a huge fan of affiliate marketing as I’ve previously said in an article I posted @ GoArticles thus the only serious affiliate links on this blog are that of Netfirms and Hostgator because I’ve used them and intend to continue using them till my blogging days are over.

Since I’m subscribed to a million email lists, I get quite a lot of emails with free reports and I make a few of them available to my readers who might not have heard about them.

Unfortunately, I CANNOT upload these free reports to my server and post direct download links to ALL of them as some authors use the free reports to build their subscriber base thus their prohibiting the download of these ebooks from anywhere other than from their websites.

I believe that in blogging about these free reports, I’ve even saved quite a number of folks a huge ton of money.

I remember vividly well when Gauher Chaudhry's free report titled the Insider’s Guide To CPA Marketing Profits hit the MMO niche. Some deceitful “Nigerian Internet Marketing Gurus” went all out and started selling this report for N5,000.

I quickly wrote a blog post under the title of The Unrevealed Dark Side Of CPA Marketing and then proceeded to spread the link around Nigerian forums so people would be aware that they were actually paying for a free report which the so called “Nigerian guru” himself had probably NEVER made money from.

Surprisingly enough, the very first forum I posted it on, deleted the post within minutes of my having posted it claiming that I was advertising in the Freebie section of the forum and that was prohibited. This forum belongs to one of Nigeria’s “Top Internet Marketers”.

Surprisingly enough, after I made him see reason for my posting the link in that section of the forum, he okayed it though I very much doubt he did it willingly.

So to all those out there who think StrictlyOnlineBiz is all about short posts and mucho affiliate links, do please let me know how many of these affiliate links have landed you on a sales page requesting payment before access.

Note: Some posts such as those in the blogging tips section are actually short cos most folks ain’t out to hear to blabber. Just give them what they came looking for sharp sharp.

P.S: @Paul Onwueme of Lagos Businesses: Hope this post sets the record straight. Thanks for inspiring me to finally blog about this issue ;)

I didn't notice that your blog is full of short posts. Well as for affiliate links, I didn't notice either ;-) I guess that is because most blogges are advert blind. We just unconciously ignore those blue links, except when we get curious enough to click through.

Well, you did well by taking time to respond to those of your readers that made the observation. That is the right thing to do. It makes readers feel belonging. Never ignore a comment even when it doesn't sound pleasant. Cheers.

    • @NaijaEcash: Oh boy that was a fast reply. LOL. I didn't except one so soon. As you said, I just had to tackle the observation before someone else mentioned it again. LOL. You didn't notice short posts cos you took the time to go through quite a number of the posts, hopefully other readers can do that before jumping into conclusions. Lord knows how I pissed I was the first time some wise ass, who thought he was the best thing to have happened to the internet, made this comment at the Google forum.
      Thanks for stopping by again.

Blogs filled with Affiliate links just pisses me off! Good that you are not among the ones who wishes to earn money my compromising on your readers comfort!

Also, Short posts are Okay in some cases when there is not much to say. It becomes irritating to keep your audience rolling in the same mindset over a long period of time.
Looking forward to work with you in future..

    • @Rohit Sane: Some blogs are filled with affiliate links and some are filled with PLR articles that are as boring as hell.
I'm a huge fan of "If you ain't got nothing to say, just zip it".
Thanks for dropping by to contribute a little to the conversation.
      See you around.
