- You must use your keyword in the Blog and Post’s URL: This is quite easy to achieve in wordpress blogs if you’re using permalinks. Blogger blogs are limited to 35 characters in the post’s URL.
- You must use your keyword in your Blog Title
- You must use your keywords in your Post Titles: There are two types of Post Titles. The one you show to your blog readers and the one the search engines display. Your search engine post title MUST be optimized for your keyword. All In SEO Pack plug-in can help you achieve that)
- You must use your keywords and related terms in your post content: Try as much as possible to repeat your keywords and their variants in your post content especially in the first and last paragraphs. Some say keep keyword density @ below 5%, I say use your keywords and their variants as much as is needed without being spammy. You be the judge of what’s spammy. Your conscience should guide you
- You must use keywords in the alt tags of your images as Google’s bot also feeds off that

Update: Google recently announced that they no longer pay attention to keywords. They’ll now decide your keywords based on your site/post’s content. I’ll continue using them as other search engines use them.

Regarding the Title tag, ussing your keywords as the first few words of the title will also boost your SE ranking. At least that seems to be the case for my particular niche.
That's true. Having the keywords come first in the title tag helps mucho. Of course you have to consider if it makes sense grammar wise

Watch position and density in every section of yuor content.
2- CONTENT
Content is king, so be sure to have good, well-written and unique content that will focus on your primary keyword or keyword phrase.
3. BACK LINKS
Build a network of quality backlinks using your keyword phrase as the link.
All of these above are increadible inter connected.
LAST but more important tip:
THE FIRST TOP LEFT PORTION OF THE SCREEN is the section of your web page where you need to concentrate your space for; keywords, related content, links.

I just tweaked my theme a bit to see if changing the tag around my page and post titles to H1 would increase traffic in anyway. Will probably take effect in a week a two. Let's wait and see what happens then
