PPC Classroom 2.0: Split Testing

PPC Classroom 2.0 Module 8: The Importance Of Split Testing and How To Do It Correctly.

Split testing from what I make of it is simply testing different ads or landing pages to see which ones are making you more profit.

In split testing your aim is to see if you can get more traffic or less amount. By split testing your ads for example you could increase the amount of clicks your ads get (CTR-Click Through Rate) and in turn lower the amount you pay for each click (CPC-Cost Per Click)

Amit Mehta says you MUST exercise caution when split testing. It's safer to have enough data before you split test.

For example if an ad has 7 clicks and the other had 4 clicks, which of them is a winner? Well the answer is none of them because the data is just too small to make that determination but if 1 ad is getting 100 clicks and the other is getting 20 clicks, that with 100 clicks is a winner and you stick with that one.

Split tester is a tool that's included in this module that helps you tell which ad is a winner.

Split testing can also be applied to the landing page. Maybe changing the image in the above the fold area or tweaking the call to action and headline might be just what you need to see an ad convert well.

In the Module 9 of the PPC Classroom 2.0, the goal is to tweak your bids so you get a higher return on your investment.

See you then.

I enjoy testing and tweaking aswell.

I especially love running a simple A/B test once in a while with the "website optimizer". It can result in severel percent more converting customers.
