PPC Classroom 2.0 Module 7: Launching Your Campaign.. Do You Have A Dud, or a Winner?

When doing PPC Affiliate Marketing, it's always good to know when a campaign is a keeper or must be dumped.

After you launch your campaign, give it a minimum of say 3 weeks to a month then analyze it. The basics in analyzing a campaign are :

  1. Increased Traffic + Increased Sales = Winner/Keeper
  2. Increased Traffic + Normal Sales with Profit = Winner/Keeper
  3. Increased Traffic + Reduced Sales = Something Is Wrong
  4. Increased Traffic + No Sales = Dud/Dump it
  5. No Traffic

In the case of number 3, you're losing money fast but before you dump it try the following.

  1. If you are bidding to high and positioned at the number 1 spot? Try reducing your bid and positioning yourself in 3 or 4 place.
  2. Stop bidding on general keywords. Target keyword phrases i.e Long Tail Keywords.
  3. Make sure your landing page is providing the exact content your traffic is looking for. Also make sure it's Google friendly.

In the case of number 5, check your ad position. You might be far off in the second page of the search engine results page. If that's the case you are bidding too low for your keyword or bidding the wrong keyword.

You could also have a low Google Quality Score 0f 1-3 over 10.

Have fun launching your campaign. Best of luck!
