Online Surveys In Nigeria: Do They Really Exist?

Posted by Udegbunam Chukwudi Under Paid Online Surveys On November 12, 2009 Comments Off

Despite my post on The Top 10 Commandments Of Paid Online Surveys, I still receive emails from folks wanting to know if there are any survey companies that actually accept Nigerians without the use of IP Changing softwares and Proxifier. They all want access to online surveys in Nigeria.

Disclaimer: The information here within is a result of internet research on the companies in question and a result of my own analysis. The info is just my OWN opinion and is offered on a take it or leave it basis.

Finally I’ve NEVER done business with them in any way.

So far so good I’ve only come across two sites that seem to be popular amongst Nigerians. A.W SURVEYS and KODE SURVEYS ONLINE.

AW SURVEYS: Though I’ve noticed it in the past, I’ve come to give it a second look after the release of Kenneth Ifeanyi’s free report, How To Make $27 In The Next 20 Minutes With Online Surveys. It seemed like they offered the best paid surveys in Nigeria.

With a minimum payout of $75, I’m very much in doubt of the authenticity of this online survey site. A look around the internet reveals that 80 – 90% of folks who do online surveys worldwide tend to complain that making the minimum payout of $15 – $20 for most legit sites, takes forever (1 – 3 months, at most 8 months). The remain 10% who actually make a lot of money from surveys, actually did so through product testing as it may be so I’m left wondering how true this $75 payout is.

Online Survey sites get a lot of bad and good reviews BUT A.W Surveys in particular seems to be getting tons of bad reviews.

Apparently, making your first $26 after signing up is easy breezy but getting up to $75 is an uphill task that cannot be accomplished by depending on the few $1 surveys they throw @ you every month after your initial $26. You’ll have to recruit a mass of referrals to make payout.

When payout day arrives, A.W Surveys starts acting funny to the extent that they even shut down accounts claiming breach of TOS either on your end or on the end of the referrals you sent their way. Even when you’re one of the lucky few to get paid, $25 will be deducted from your earnings to complete the transaction via PayPal. (I’m left wondering if this $25 PayPal fee is not a way of them reclaiming the $26 they used in roping you in  and keeping you motivated to get them more referrals).

I guess this explains why A.W Surveys with their 2 million dedicated survey takers and Alexa ranking of 4868 has no Google Page-rank after 2 years of establishment. Google might have penalized them or something

Most Nigerians are flocking to it because they accept Nigerians without questions. However the case maybe, thread carefully and weigh the pros and cons.

Here are few reviews of AW Surveys

  1. A.W. Surveys Scam
  2. A.W. Surveys – Fraud Site
  3. A.W. SURVEYs are SCAM,FAKE,FRAUD….So beware of it!!!

KODE SURVEYS ONLINE: They claim to offer online survey questions from the top Nigerian companies. Funny enough they charge a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE of 2,500 naira ($15) for you you to join and this is the reason why I’m so not feeling them @ all.

I can’t imagine letting go of 2,500 naira only for someone to send me some useless information and then I’m left without the option of a refund as an exit strategy.

They make it clear on their home page, that the site is strictly for resident Nigerians, Nigerians in Diaspora, and Africans only!

Each survey pays out 500 naira ($3) and payments go out the last Friday of every month, if your account balance is 5,000 naira or more ($33).

NOTE: Any site that asks for an access fee to online surveys should be analyzed carefully. From what I’ve learnt, survey companies are supposed to make money when YOU make money and not the other way around!

All the best with your online survey endeavors!
