Nigerians It’s Time We Forget About Paid Online Surveys

This post is a joint effort by MK Akan (90%) and StrictlyOnlineBiz (10%)

When the make money online buzz took off in Nigeria, paid online surveys was on everybody’s lips and spread like wildfire thus I wrote one of my top five most visited posts; The Top 10 Commandments Of Paid Online Surveys.

As time went by, I came to accept the fact, that it was kinda illegal for Nigerians to make money online via online surveys because most of these surveys were targeted @  mainly residents of the US, UK and Canada and were based on products that would be released to these countries.

Recently MK Akan who BTW wrote the wonderful post, Can Nigerians Really Make Money Online, left a comment here, that made me decide to take the plunge and write this post on why Nigerians living in Nigeria should just forget about earning online through surveys.

Below are 4 reasons why we’re now advising against online surveys for Nigerians.

  1. Amongst other things, survey companies exist to help big corporations target the right consumers with the right products and masking our IP addresses and signing up with virtual US addresses really doesn’t help these corporations @ all.
  2. Online surveys is sadly not a source of passive income. You have to put in quite a load of effort to see results.
  3. Some survey companies are cunning in that they could sneak around and not pay you for work done (surveys taken).
  4. It’s not really an online business, as you own no asset whatsoever.

Mk Akan feels surveys companies operating in Nigeria would work better for Nigerians and in as much as I agree, I must say I’m disappointed in the only Nigerian survey company that I’ve come across in the name of KodeSurveys. Ever since I joined them, my email has been inundated with scam emails and sales pitches from all over Nigeria. It could probably just be a coincidence though I doubt it as I’ve contacted some KodeSurveys subscribers and they’ve got the same issues.

I do have high hopes that sometime in the future, a reputable company would rise to fill in this void and do so elegantly well ;-)

NOTE: Despite my views that Online Surveys are not for Resident Nigerians, I’m not going to delete my blog post The Top 10 Commandments Of Paid Online Surveys as it accounts for a huge percentage of my search engine traffic. What I’ll be doing instead is to leave a link to this post @ the beginning of that post as sort of an update ;-) .

I didn’t realize you can actually make any money off the surveys. At least not enough to call it a job.

Surveys are just a waste of time [you will never get rich with them and they are so frustrating to complete]. For Nigerians it is even worse. Trust me I have tried it without any success(even PTC). I even have most of the highly advertised paid-surveys guides you can find around the internet.

If you ask me about AW Surveys I would say it was a big SCAM because I logged-in to my AW Surveys account one morning only to discover that the funds in my acct were gone without ever violating their terms.

Now what I do online is to try and market some Clickbank products. Though it is very difficult to sell products from clickbank, I still manage to sell a few per month. By God’s Special Grace, I’ll start making major cash with Clickbank, Amazon & CJ by the end of December.

  4. Clickbank is not a waste of time. Come to think of it. Clickbank is not even what makes you money. What makes you money is your ability to market the products on clickbank which most people do not know how to do.

Definitely, surveys are a waste of time. You will never make real money online doing it.

We ain’t saying that Clickbank is a waste of time. We’re just saying that ain’t no need worrying ourselves with them as they don’t accept Nigerians.
