Beware Of MMO Blog Setup Services Like This One!

Seeing that the make money online info product niche is getting seriously saturated and sales are hard to come by, some of Nigeria’s internet marketing gurus have moved on to a new business model which is focused around the setting up of adsense/affiliate blogs and websites for a fee.

Most of them have announced their retirement from the information product marketing arena as they move on to blog setup services which has some serious issues as is expected.

Disclaimer: This review is my own personal opinion of one Nigerian internet marketer offering this kind of service. It in no way represents all Nigerian folks offering blog setup services.

For a fee of N6,000 ($44.00) or thereabout, you get the following

  1. A domain name
  2. One year worth of web hosting
  3. A unique blog in a high paying adsense niche that pays as much as $2 per click.
  4. 10 unique blog posts written by the guru himself to get you started

A DOMAIN NAME AND ONE YEAR WORTH OF WEB HOSTING

Considering the fact that getting a domain name and quality web hosting could set you back exactly N7,000 ($46), I advice you to tread carefully. This one year of web hosting could actually be limited. Below is the capture of another Nigerian internet marketer’s web hosting services.

Nigerian Web Hosting Packages

What if the above is what you’re actually getting as your one year of web hosting? All it’s going to take are a few aggressive spam bots to shut down your blog/site as the allocated monthly bandwidth is way too small and will be consumed by the bots.

A UNIQUE BLOG IN A HIGH PAYING ADSENSE NICHE

Thou shall not be fooled. Just because you set up a blog in a high paying adsense niche such as Credit Cards and Bank Loans doesn’t mean you’re going to start making as much as $2 a day from it.

High paying adsense blogs are hyper-competitive and somewhat of difficult to drive traffic to. New blogs in this niches tend to stay longer in Google’s Sandbox as there are millions of blogs/websites setup around these high paying keywords.

You’re better off targeting a less popular niche (Just the opinion of a newbie)

TEN UNIQUE BLOG POSTS WRITTEN BY THE GURU HIMSELF

I personally don’t believe in anyone writing unique articles for your blogs which is why I took time to check out two blogs setup by this particular guru. As always I wasn’t disappointed in my search for something fishy.

Most of the articles on these two blogs (Example: http://homemoneybusinessonline.com/) were sourced from article directories such as ArticleDashBoard and EzineArticles.

10 Unique Blog Posts = 10 Random Posts from Online Article Directories

Some folks just believe in taking people for a ride not minding whether they can be caught in their deceit. Why make promises you can’t deliver all in the name of a quick buck? This is what I call “Legitimate Fraud” as organizations such as the EFCC are still going after email scammers and corporate thieves and turning a blind eye to these kind of frauds.

The original authors of these articles are not even credited at all = Content theft

NOTE: If you want to learn how to set up a blog and online business ON YOUR OWN, I advice you to take a look @ my FREE Make Money Online or Work Online In Nigeria Guide.

Always try to investigate what services you’re paying for before opening your wallet. Sales copies in and out of Nigeria are usually filled with BOGUS CLAIMS.

Hopefully no-one will fall for this scheme, at least those reading this will now know better.

The problem is that there’s always someone who thinks that there is an easy way to make a buck. The only ones he will suck in is the newbies, most would realize that that hosting package is way to small for any decent sized blog.

Thanks for mentioning and pointing this out! I am such a sucker and oblivious to seeing which are legit and which are not, or the ones that are trying to screw you. So, thanks for helping out. :)

  3. It’s getting harder for companies who do not use SEO, blogs, social media ; online marketing. Many will fall behind…

  4. Nigerians would continue to fall for such traps for as long as “cheap pricing” is their major determinant.

    • There’s this thing about keeping your expenditure on the low side when doing business for the first time. Unfortunately people aren’t aware that there are certain aspects of the business where you can’t afford to be stiff with the cash ;-)

  5. Wow Chukwudi,

This is another good work! I truly wonder if many nigerians are reading this. Any way those who don’t want to learn how the business works but wants the easy way will always fall prey. You’ve done your work if they refuse to learn, that na their toro! :)

The funny thing is most of them are so mesmerized by the claims of the “gurus” that posts like this are just nonsense written by a blogger struggling to make money online.

here is what i like about your blog. obviously it targets nigerian business people. there are a lot of scams that seem to come out of nigeria. your blog gives help to those who want to differentiate themselves from the scammers. excellent job.

  9. Chuks, what a wonderful post I’m reading here again. Our problem in Nigeria is ‘awof’. People tends to go for cheap things thinking they can get the best. A recent occurrence was a client that met with me few weeks ago. He wanted to setup 2 different WordPress blogs and when I told him the price, he ran away. He then later contacted me and offer to pay N10,000.

    You won’t imagine! 10k for 2 blogs.

Now imagine if that kind of person sees this guy’s offer which even include 10 ‘original’ articles, won’t he grab the offer? And at the end, he will get a crappy site.

I hope Nigerians are reading this.

The price is heavily influenced by the details of what your service is offering! If you are to create content as well it will most definitely cost an arm oh!
