Top 3 Misconceptions About StrictlyOnlineBiz
Posted by Udegbunam Chukwudi on September - 6 - 2010
NOTE: This post might appear to run forever but I implore my regular readers and the new visitors with time on their hands, to please take some 5 – 10 minutes to read the entire post so as to get the real situation of things on this blog.
It’s just over 1,200 words long
.
If you care to ask most bloggers who blog with the primary aim of making money online, you’ll find out that @ in the beginning we all were hounded by one of the most popular yet annoying catchphrases in internet marketing: FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT!
In good ol’ Wikipedia’s words, it means to imitate confidence so that as the confidence produces success, it will generate real confidence.
As we can all see, this catchphrase had a clean and mighty purpose behind it until companies and individuals started twisting it, the most annoying of the lot being some internet marketers who in reality are still living like "regular folks" BUT claim to have made MILLIONS OF DOLLARS ONLINE which has afforded them the opportunity to DRIVE LAMBORGHINIS, go on EXOTIC WEEKENDS, PARTY LIKE CRAZY, LAND THE SUPERMODEL PROTOTYPES and the list continues.
If there’s anything I’ve learnt in life way back in high school, it is faking to be somebody that you’re not can have severe repercussions.
Take for example the internet marketer who claims to have made $500 a day through surveys and is offering to show his clients/customers the EXACT WAY he made that $500 in 24 hours. Imagine the backlash that would follow after 10 clients purchase the product and realize that it’s all a f**king dream! They’ve been gamed. That could mark the end of that internet marketer’s business with no hope of redemption in the nearest futures.
Take the real life example of Nigeria’s self proclaimed internet guru, Austin Azubuike also probably known as Kenneth Ifeanyi. For the price of N6,000 ($44) he was offering a blog setup service that promised amongst other things; a unique blog in a high paying adsense niche that pays as much as $2 per click and 10 unique blog posts written by him. He has practically failed to deliver on his promise and now has angry customers after him. He has even gone underground coincidentally after I wrote the posts; The Plenty Fishiness Surrounding Austin Azubuike and Austin Azubuike Needs To Cut The Cr*p NOW!. He now sells to his email list ONLY and he’s yet to get his act straight
!
NOTE: I’m still subscribed to his list under a pseudonym.
Some of my loyal readers have started to put me on a pedestal which I don’t really need @ the moment. A few even think I’m a guru when it comes to making money online. I’ve been getting emails from folks impressed by the layout, content and PR of my blog to the extent that they all want to guest post, exchange links etc so as to benefit from the "success of my blog" thus today might probably be the day that I’ll shoot myself in the foot and as a result lose some respect and the few rss subscribers I’ve managed to amass.
Today I’m going to tell it as it is: THE TRUE STATUS OF STRICTLYONLINEBIZ.COM
FIRST MISCONCEPTION: STRICTLYONLINEBIZ GETS TONS OF TRAFFIC !
Thou shall not be fooled by the Google PageRank of 3 and Alexa Rank below 60,000. After 1 year and 6 months of being online and having made some mistakes, the real situation of traffic here looks like the capture below which shows the Google Analytics Traffic Stats for this blog with regards to the month of August 2010.

- If you’re planning on guest posting here so you can get some juicy traffic, you’ll be disappointed for now!
- If you’re planning to guest post for a couple of quality dofollow backlinks, feel free to as this blog has maintained it’s PR 3 for almost 6 months in a row and I don’t see that dropping soon as I’m playing heavily by the rules put in place by Google
. - If you’re planning on advertising your goods and services here then I think it’s best you know that with the traffic stats above the poorest performing "above the fold" ad got a total of 21 clicks last month. With this, I’m considering moving the management of the 125 x 125 "above the fold" ads to Google Adwords. I’ll be updating the advertise page when I’ve finally made up my mind on what to do with advertising on this blog.
SECOND MISCONCEPTION: STRICTLYONLINEBIZ IS MAKING SERIOUS MONEY !
Below is a capture of my Adsense Earnings for 1 year ( My account was inactive for about 6 months due that Verification PIN of a thing that Google sends in the mail once you breach the $50 mark )

As you can see, I’ve only made just over 100 EUROS from Google Adsense since I started this blog. Add that figure to about $40 in affiliate commissions and the total earning for StrictlyOnlineBiz till date will be close to 140 EUROS ONLY!
Believe me you, if I really wanted to make more than this I would have done that. All it would have taken was my gaming all the folks who contacted me via email and phone for help. I would have faked my Google Adsense and Clickbank stats and splashed the captures all over this blog for people to ogle at and believe me you, most folks would have taken the bait
.
I’ve taken my time to learn the make money online ropes so as to find what I’m pretty good at offering and delivering with 100% quality. I found that only about a month ago when I launched my wordpress blog setup service, which in my opinion is nicely priced @ $30 (N4,000) since there’s no logo/web design involved
.
THIRD AND FINAL MISCONCEPTION: THIS STRICTLYONLINEBIZ GUY IS A GURU !
I’ve done the very best I can cut through this illusion that people have about my blog and I’m yet to succeed. Some are just so "mesmerized" by the "quality of posts" I write each week that they think I’m the SH*T!
Well guys for the UMPTEENTH time, I’m gonna say it again: I’M NOT THE SH*T. I’m NO GURU / MAKE MONEY ONLINE EXPERT. The wealth of knowledge showcased on this blog is knowledge that has been gathered and refined in my search for answers online.
I’ve read and read and till date I’m still reading other blogs to better myself. Not every tutorial out there is 100% foolproof which is why I take time out to try each and every one of them then fix hidden issues arising within them before I share with you my readers.
As we say in Med School: All That Matters Is If You’re Trainable or Not! Thank God I am and I’m learning pretty well without much fuss ( Thanks to my mum for keeping me awake most nights with a cane/whip just within her reach so I could be trainable in school and real life
)
In conclusion, the reason for this post is to make things as clear as possible for individuals wishing to do business with StrictlyOnlineBiz.com. I don’t want you having some distorted notion that once you collaborate with me, you’ll garner some measure of success.
I’m learning, you’re learning and together we’ll learn better how to make money online.
Have a great week and thanks for the taking the time out to read and digest this entry

Great, I love the sincerity of heart and purpose, this is the 1st time I am commenting on your blog even though am subscribed to your RSS – I had to stop by and say a BIG kudos for being upfront and personal.
Making money online is possible but not as easy as some people try to make us believe especially with the stiff competition worldwide….
Keep it up man!
Thanks for taking the time out to read this post and leave a comment. I’d rather build a business on truth than a pack of lies that aren’t going to get me anywhere @ all. Besides no be REBRANDING NIGERIA we dey do now? lol
Thanks for the compliments man
Your bluntness is legendary. Keep it up.
lol. Thanks. I’m not generally blunt oh! It’s just that there are some things I can’t keep quiet about ’cause my conscience/mind will not be at peace until I say them as it are.
cool choice of words man, I seriously enjoyed this post/rant! this is what I can call “real blogging”, you’re not selling a dream, you’re giving reality
I particularly liked the saying you got from med school. I believe in that one as well. As long as you have the learning curve and are enthusiastic with what you are doing, then it would still be a win/win situation. Constant learning is very much required in this industry, and it’s good news that there are lots of places that we can really read and learn over the internet. This post is really honest, and I’m sure I’ll be copying this style in the future. Anyway, I’m sure that your blog setup business will work fine, since it’s your forte. You don’t really need to be a guru to have the right to speak about a certain topic. As long as you are providing your readers quality, then it should be more than fine. Giving is the real essence of blogging
well, that’s my opinion about it, since I’m still new to blogging.Regards, Jason
Selling a dream ain’t my thing @ all. I live by reality checks
. Thanks for the retweet and BTW best of luck with the SEO for Hire Free Services For Five. I’ll add it to this week’s round up of blog posts. Cheers man.
Hi, really love this phrase “to imitate confidence so that as the confidence produces success, it will generate real confidence.” I think this the attitude that all the bloggers must be aware of.
Goodness, you remind me of me when I was putting out my monthly income statistics. Not rich by any means from internet marketing, yet it’s growing. Slowly, but at least it’s in the right direction. I’m pulling for you!
Thanks Mitch. I’m pulling for meself too
Even, this upfront and personal stuff, makes me want to keep coming to this blog
One other thing you did not add is “I am nice to a fault”
You have been most helpful to my blog life.
I will surely want to associate with this blog, whether you are blunt or cruel, it is your blog and your life!
well done chuks,
surprisingly, this will greatly improve your authority and the trust people have for you and your blog.
i dont claim to be a guru or anything . i dont claim to have made millions on the internet but i am learning and doing stuff that will make it happen one day.
this is one reason why i try as much as possible not to brag or blog about how much i have made online. i am learning a lot of things about making money online and is making some money from adsense but is not enough to call myself a guru. i am also building niche sites and new blogs so as to make me achieve my goals.
i am presently sharing with people what i am learning and have learnt in my journey online and is building a community around it.
when ever i hit that online gold,i will say so and will show it.
well done ones again…
thanks for being truthful and straightforward…
Chukwudi,
You are a fake guy! You don’t want to make money. How can you mess things up for yourself like this?
Tell them you are a guru. Tell them you have made millions on the internet in a matter of months. Organise seminars and invite them to come learn from the best there is at this – you.
Funny, but they’ll believe you and you’ll make some quick cash from the seminar fees.
One popular guy who did (and still does) the above told me that its all marketing. That was the last time I stepped into his office.
Good to see that integrity is a virtue that is not totally lost to this generation.
ROFLMAO. Nna men. You got me for a minute before I scanned to the end of your comment
. Only a few of them have offices so I can imagine about three of them whom you could possibly be referring to. It’s all marketing meaning you get to tell as much lies as possible so as to move the product.
Thanks for dropping in once again
I totally agree with you.
It is foolish to sell ones conscience to make quick cash. Riches do take wings you know. Also, ill gotten wealth never last. I’ll rather climb slowly and steadily than JET UP and CRASH LAND!
I’ll rather climb slowly and steadily than JET UP and CRASH LAND!. That’s kinda what I’m doing right down. I’ve made enough mistakes and now I’m gonna take my time to do things right in as much as I might be moving @ the speed of a tortoise
.
You are very honest! I appreciate you. I hope you will must get success.
Less I forget, do please read : FeedBurner Is Stealing Your CommentLuv Backlinks!. Enjoy
I think you have made a mistake at the starting. You should post your articles in a top level domain. Google loves to give preference to top level domains. So if possible migrate from yoursite/blog to anothersite.com. As you are blogging about 18 month. I started my blog 8 months ago. My visitors is about 700+/per day. Neither black hat SEO nor some thing else. Just try to write some unique things. You will get traffic automatically. Never mind! I’m not advising. I said that I learned in the last 8 months.
Believe me you, I made quite a lot of mistakes starting out and PROBABLY that’s why it’s taking me time to grow like wildfire. lol
. I’m staying put with my current domain as I’m better off that way than trying to do a complete overhaul of the site all in the name of pleasing Google, who has been known to act VERY FUNNY @ times. Google could even go crazy on me and deindex my site or take away my rankings.
I’m working at writing unique things anyway though it ain’t easy fleshing out those ideas.
You don’t have to fake it in order to make it. It your diligence is beginning to speak for you. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
I think the best approach is earning while you learn, and I think that is what you get, if you are involved in this internet business, nevermind just go at your your own pace, thank you so much for sharing your quality content so far!
I totally agree faking is never a good thing, and that it will fall back on you in time.So it’s really important to stay true.
