How To Make Money Online With Sponsored Tweets

Make Money Online Via Sponsored Tweets

I’ve been testing out other ways of making money online and now I’m aiming @ cashing in on Twitter via Sponsored Tweets.

The Sponsored Tweets business model, which is an innovation of IZEA, Social Media Marketing is based on getting paid to tweet ads to your followers on your twitter. For these ads you get paid by click or per tweet depending on the advertiser’s choice.

Here are a few things you ought to know before running along to sign with up with Sponsored Tweets.

SPONSORED TWEETS REQUIREMENTS FOR AD TWEETERS

  1. Your twitter account must be @ least 120 days (4 months old) and you must have somewhere around 200 followers.
  2. If you joined twitter not long ago and boast of thousands of followers and you are not a celebrity or someone with “celebrity status“, your account will most probably not be accepted into the system.
  3. All tweets must be disclosed as ads via the use of tags like #ad, sponsors, sponsoring etc.

FEATURES OF SPONSORED TWEETS REGARDING AD TWEETERS

  1. Sign up takes less than 5 – 10 minutes.
  2. You can set a minimum charge per tweet/click of $1: those with “celebrity status” whose followers are very responsive can earn even more in the realms of $250 per tweet/click.
  3. As far as I know, you can cash out at anytime via PayPal or Check.
  4. Sponsored Tweets engine sends out the tweet ads on your behalf.

PRECAUTIONS WHILE WORKING WITH SPONSORED TWEETS

While the use of Sponsored Tweets has been certified okay by Twitter, your twitter account could still be banned if you’re found to be tweeting only ads or way too many ads with little non paid tweets/retweets. You must engage with your followers and converse pretty well on twitter to avoid being tagged a spammer.

Sponsored Tweet accounts are free so what are you waiting for? If you meet the requirements above, go sign up now.

I realy love this blog, great job chucks.I will try to get more followers to my account…

  2. I cannot believe that this will work. I more sound just like a promise.

I agree with your analysis, but an additional limitation is that there simply aren’t that many offers. At the moment I have 74,000+ followers and I do get the occasional request for a sponsored tweet – but not often. Changing my asking price hasn’t made any difference.

Maybe if I change it to $1 it will, but then it’s not worth the risk. Twitter users are notorious for not liking ads, I can pretty much guarantee you that for every ad you tweet, some people will unfollow you (sad, but not a problem) and others will report you for spamming (given enough of those, this *will* be a problem).

    • 74,000+ followers is quite a lot to risk losing due to sponsored ads unless of course you’re a celebrity. I’m yet to get another offer despite my fee being set @ $1. Guess I have to keep working @ being influential on twitter for them to start taking notice of me again ;-)

Well, even if the worst happens, Twitter rarely suspends for life. Usually they suspend you temporarily and you can ask to be reinstated after 7-10 days.

Still, I’d very much rather avoid this. And permanent suspensions HAVE taken place.

I read somewhere, I think ineeddiscipline.com, that if you want to get offers you should reduce the amount sponsored tweet qoute for you,by half, this would draw advertiser to you, but if you are keen on the reputation thing, I was thinking there is always a offer kind of thing that is sent to you, like they do for paid to blog( blog review site), you have to accept, before the tweet will show on your page!

I’ve heard for some time about sponsor tweets but I never tried. Wright now I have only around 120 followers so I think I am not qualified for this yet. I will try it when I will have enough followers. Thanks for the post.

i had signed up and tried it in the past..only works well if you have a large followership.read where top bloggers like john chow have made so much from it…

  8. Thanks for sharing this new way of make money online. I come across something like this sometime ago, but I did not give it a tort because my twitter followers is not up to 200 followers.

It is a nice way of making extra dollars, if one have a good twitter account. All the best.
