StrictlyOnlineBiz’s Review Of Nigeria’s KodeSurveys
Online Surveys In Nigeria: Do They Really Exist? was the (in)famous post that triggered a lot of drama here @ StrictlyOnlineBiz a few months back. This drama became so intense, I had to shut down all pingbacks, trackbacks and comments on that post as well as delete past comments.
My review was thought to be biased and I was accused of saying a lot of untruths about a service I hadn’t ever used. I tendered my apologies with Apologies and Comments Policy Reviewed (Again)! and promised to sign up for the service and then write my own views on the outfit, Kode Surveys.
Well, it’s been almost 8 weeks since I signed up to be a participant of Kode Surveys and here are my views.
On the 22 December 2009, I paid my non-refundable fee of N2,500 @ FinBank, Jakande Estate Branch, Lagos. I used the alias Frank Okorie as I didn’t want a situation whereby I would be treated differently from other folks.
Various hours after texting and emailing my payments details to them, I received my PIN CODE with instructions on how to answer all surveys sent my way. Unfortunately I registered way too close to the Christmas holidays and a few days later, they sent a mass email announcing that they would be going on holidays to resume late January 2010.
So I was left without doing any surveys until the 29th of January 2010 when they sent out another mass email announcing the resumption of services on the 1st of February, 2010.
Here are my qualms with Nigeria’s Kode Surveys.
THEIR ACCOUNT INFORMATION IS WRONG

The real name attached to their account with FinBank is Kode Advertising and not Kode. If I wasn’t carefully enough to have verified before paying, I might have lost my N2,500 or I would have had to make a second trip back to the Bank to rectify this issue.
SURVEYS ARE NOT SENT OUT EVERYDAY

Unlike what is boldly written on their website as shown in the capture above, surveys are NOT updated everyday. Since they resumed services till date, I’ve only received one survey from them and I’m yet to receive notification that I have been credited for that particular survey.
THE MASS EMAILING THING NEEDS TO STOP
The management of Kode Surveys needs to get an autoresponder because the habit of sending one email to multiple addresses @ the same time is exposing the emails of their participants to spammers.

UPDATE: Just yesterday (23 February 2010), someone by the name of Adamu Umar Musa, took advantage of KodeSurveys mass emailing habit and started spamming us with his sales copy! Aaaaargh!
Note: All email addresses have been modified to protect the owners.
THEY NEED TO GET RID OF THEIR AWFUL AUTORESPONSE MESSAGE
Every time you send an email to them, you get the message below, sent to you automatically and after a few emails to them, it gets pretty frustrating. This frustration is made worse by the fact they almost never respond to emails and when they do, it’s sometimes late.

To make matters worse, they send the vibe that they don’t like you bugging them as shown below in the email that contains their survey rules.

If the above issues could be fixed as soon as soon as possible, some of Kode Surveys participants wouldn’t be so unhappy with their services.
Hopefully I won’t be attacked again for “trying to rubbish” another Nigerian start-up.

Hmm. I smell a bush rat.

LOL. Each day you sound like a typical Nigerian to me. LMAO
Revealing review. I was a bit interested in Kode. I won’t take them up until I start getting more positive reviews about them.
The business has got some potential but needs serious restructuring to avoid looking like just another typical Nigerian scam
P.S: I received my second survey of the month on Monday.
This is a frank review of KodeSurvey. They should see it as a positive criticism and wakeup to their responsibilities. I first heard of them from Nigerian Entreprenuer. A reader there expressed doubt about their service. I’m glad I now have a better information on the outfit.
However, I must commend them for venturing into a niche that is yet virgin in Nigeria. For those of us looking for ways to make money online, I still think that survey is not yet for Nigerians. Google Adsense still promises a better chance with those trckling cents

Akismet just doesn’t love you @ all. LOL. Your comments keep landing in the spam folder.
I’m with you on the whole online survey thing not being right for the Nigerians but then Google adsense and their PIN wahala is also an issue. For almost 6 months now, I’m still awaiting my PIN to activate payments and it’s yet to arrive.
What irks me the most is that while the PIN is in transit to your post office box, your adsense account will only be showing PSAs (Public Service Ads). Why can’t they just let you continue earning with them till you get the stupid PIN?
pls help me Kode survey had scammed me.
i paid them 2500naira since last yr and have not received any survey till now. May Almighty God punish KOKO DENIS Amen.
I really feel for you ’cause you actually stood up in their defense in the past which led to our exchanging words. I don’t remember getting any survey from those guys since March and I haven’t been paid sh*t. KODESURVEYS is a MASSIVE SCAM and should be advertised as such around the net so as to warn others.
I took the liberty of contacting some of KodeSurveys clients and they all had the same complaints.
All I can say is that you should bear your loss in good faith and pray that the establishment crumbles and they get what Karma has in stock for them. It is well as they say
i got this Kode profile through searching on google…… This is the Face of the Criminal http://ng.linkedin.com/pub/koko-dennis/13/877/619. you can get all information about him from here, i think this will be helpful
