The Only Reason Why I’m Still With Hostgator Webhost

This is going to be quite a short post. From time to time I get emails from people (most of them Nigerians) wanting to know which web host hosts my blog and each time I tell them Hostgator, they write me back in a few days complaining that their fees are quite high.
Well I TOTALLY agree with that and believe me you, on a couple of occasions, I’d made up my mind to leave them when my subscription ran out but it’s been quite difficult to accomplish and here’s why.
I’m a sucker for QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE and that’s where Hostgator has got me hooked. Till date I’m still alarmed with the speed and expertise with which my support tickets are handled. They’ve even indirectly helped me fix problems, I was encountering with other webhosts
.
I believe in CUSTOMER IS KING and GETTING QUALITY FOR MY MONEY and Hostgator has got that down as one of their working principles. Their customer service reps are all highly equipped to handle most issues arising with 3rd Party applications such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla etc.
Other than the above, there’s nothing more to say about why I’m still dinning with the Great Gator

thanks, your insight was key in me switching to hostgator and i don’t regret it one bit!
as you said their customer service is f*cking brilliant! they even help you transfer/set up! (a blessing to newbies or those still cutting their teeth) no Nigerian host comes even close!
and there’s unlimited bandwidth, with ability to host several domains/sites with one account.
how was camp?

Despite the ruggedness of the camp, I must admit that I somewhat of miss it in a way
.
How far? Did you finally get Hostgator to accept the Visa card or not?
yeah they accepted it. just had to rectify something at my bank first. on a good day the transaction would be approved after which they would then request for my ID & card scans.

Hope you don’t mind my asking, what was it that you needed to rectify @ the bank before they accepted the card? I’m asking should in case someone else approaches me after encountering the same problem you did.
it’s not really your problem but anyway: for security purposes it’s usually at the point of collection of the card by the customer that e-banking cards are usually activated for internet use by Intercontinental Bank. somehow the customer service officer initially forgot to do so and so my transactions were being denied. this activation is called flagging for internet use. likewise when a customer complains that he lost his card or he feels his card details/PIN has been compromised the cards are usually deflagged from internet/ATM use.

Oh! That’s a regular thingy with ATM cards etc. Thanks for the info
If Hostgator provides excellent customer service then there shouldn’t be any reason why you should opt for another web host! Do update me about them.
To me, there isn’t anything wrong in spending a little extra bucks and getting superior customer service. It’s just how one perceives things. Getting quality for money – this is important.
In my opinion when we want to buy any web hosting it is important to get web host provider that give a very good customer service this is because when something happen to our site all what we need is a fast respond so that we can solve the problem as soon as possible =)
