You seem like to be pretty good with plugins. By any chance, do you know how to add SEO plugins for Google Chrome? I'd really appreciate if you share that.

FYI this plugin needs to be updated to work with the newest version of WordPress. I think it's best to just edit the footer.tpl and add the code there.

@ Lisa: Hey I wouldn't say I'm pretty good with plugins. I just do my best to source the finest and easy to understand ones. Sorry I know not any SEO plugins for Google Chrome. If I find out one, I'd let you know. By the way I think they have an extension of getting Page Ranks of sites you visit. I'm not too sure.
Just so you know, Chrome uses extensions not plugins.

@ Darek & Mark: Good to know you easily implemented google analytics on your blog thanks to my post. Stick around. I've got more tips

@ Daniel: Haven't seen any compatibility issue with Wordpress 2.8. You can also check out this pluin too: Google Analyticator. By the way, I've never heard of the footer.tpl file in a theme. Are we still discussing wordpress?

Straight forward! I should be simple as that. plugins are all design to help users.

    this is goo!

    Thanks!

  11. Update: I just realised something that's been right in front of my eyes all the time. You might NOT need this plugin to install Google Analytics. Check out your header.php and footer.php especially footer.php.
Towards the end of the file/page you'll find the tag. Paste your Google Analytics code immediately before this tag, save your settings and you're good to go.

As you say, it's not hard to add the analytics javascript in your footer file, but plugins do make it easier for the technically challenged. Of course, if you're using wp.com or blogger you have no choice but to edit the template file.

@Udegbunam - yes, I'm familiar with self-hosted wp. All I'm saying is you don't have the option of a plugin in wp.com and blogger, whereas in self-hosted installations you do.
