Increase Your Backlinks With Comment Luv

Posted by Udegbunam Chukwudi On March - 16 Under Wordpress Plug-ins 27 COMMENTS

If you are looking to increase the size of traffic to your site, you have to work on increasing your ranking in the search engines. One way to achieve this is by increasing your backlinks by leaving your blog/website url whenever you comment on posts at forums and blogs.

Backlinks are basically links from other sites that lead back to your blog/website.

I’ve just installed CommentLuv Wordpress Plug-in and what it does is leave a link to the last post on your blog whenever you post a comment on a blog that has Comment Luv installed.

NOTE: This plug-in requires you have a feed on your blog/site because what it does is fetch your last bog post while you type out your comment after which when you submit your comment, a link to your last blog post appears underneath your comment.

In addition to getting a backlink to your site, the title of your last blog post which shows underneath your comment can get you more traffic if it’s interesting enough to grab the attention of other commentators on my blog.

Get Comment Luv for WordPress 2.6+ and start spreading the luv.

Comment Luv

P.S: Big thank you to atomic blogger Alvin Phang for the heads up.

  1. I have just added the plugin myself. You might have better luck with comment if that gator wasn't jumping up and down. It is extremely distracting.

I thought as much Boris. I'll change it as soon as possible. Thanks

  3. Already added this one. There is another one “KeywordLUV”. You should try it.

    Hi,
I have a couple of blogs that I changed to dofollow and have been pleased with the results.
Going Do-follow does encourage visitors to read your posts and comment. Of course there are always those who try and take advantage of your blog, so you have to monitor comments. But, it only takes me a few minutes a day and is well worth the time.

@ Jessica, I totally agree with you. The amount of comments on my blog jave sure do increased since I implemented this plug-in and I ain't getting that much spam so I'm good with it.

  6. This plugin is really great. I think it could be even better if it had the "remove no-follow" function builtin. without Do-Follow this plugin doesn't really make sense. On the other hand, blogger who care so much about their readers and install KeywordLuv normally know what they are doing and will install a do-follow plugin, too.

@Instant Hosting Activation: I get your drift. It would make things a lot easier with less plug-ins needed.

I found a lot of DoFollow blogs to have false advertisement. Best thing to do is look up their HTML sources. Then type in nofollow in the “Find”, and you will be surprised how many DoFollow blogs have nofollow tags right in front of the link you submitted to them.
These people should be ashamed of themselves :-)

  9. Hi,
    Very nice post.
Wordpress provides us lot of useful plug-in.But i like the commentluv most because it gives the an extra link to the commentator as reward and brings lot of the traffic. So win situation for all.
    Thanks for the sharing

  10. @Annie: You had me laughing so hard. I know that's the order of the day now. People claiming their blogs are nofollow free/do follow when in fact they ain't. That's why I posted this: StrictlyOnlineBiz Remains NoFollow FREE!. There's even a way of making wordpress dofollow without a plugin and I'll blog about that soon.
    Thanks for the contribution.

Keywordluv and commentluv are very effective tools for improving your site's traffic. This is a very good plug-in for everyone starting out.

  12. rasim from Remove Adware says:

The do-follow plug in is a great tool if respected by visitors. It’s sometimes a shame that visitors can’t be responsible in reading the article and contributing something constructive to the debate as useless comments don’t get them anywhere and may even prompt the blog owner to remove the do-follow plug in

  13. Reza from Blogger Make Money says:

This site is already using KeywordLuv, but I think it will make your blog fully commented, and that's great!

  14. Bob from Shop Refurbishment says:

At least with these plug ins it starts to make the comments more personalised. Otherwise it just looks like a whole bunch of advertising rather than useful comments!

  15. Jan from SEO says:

I enjoy using commentluv and keywordluv. Thanks for sharing.

  16. Greg says:

To the commenters above, there are firefox addons that will tell if links are nofollow/dofollow

  17. jack from zen count says:

Keywordluv is a great tool because it allows the webmaster to get relevant keywords which is huge for on-page SEO.

  18. I have heard a lot about this plugin. But I have a doubt in my mind- does this plugin also dofollows the comment links?

  19. @ Jack: For Keyword Luv be beneficial to on page SEO, commentators have to keep their keywords realted to the posts's main keywords/tags. Anythin out of this is plain BS. Check out this wonderful piece @ Pavan Kumar's blog.

  20. I think it is great that more and more blogs are going dofollow. That for using keyworluv also.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Comment Luv and Keyword Luv? I've got both active on my blog but from what I've read they both seem to do the same thing.
Andy@mountain bikes hopes you will read…What mountain bike is good for the road more than the rough terrain??

    • Keyword Luv is useless on a blog if the blog is not DOFOLLOW and it's function is just to compensate the commentator for his/her time by offering them a free dofollow backlink to their site using their niche keywords.

Comment luv on the other hand lets you leave a link that might be visited by other commentators. If the blog is also dofollow, you get a free backlink as well ;)
