How To Fix Windows Live Writer Embed Video Error

As many already know I blog solely via Windows Live Writer ’cause it makes my blogging a lot more fun. For those of you who do use Windows Live Writer as well, you might have encountered errors such as the one below when trying to add a video that ain’t from YouTube to your posts ;-(.

Well, here’s how to fix it without fuss ![]()
When you get to the end of your blog post where you’d like to embed the image simply switch to the source of the blog post and paste the embed code for your video.


Switch back to the Edit tab, save and publish your post without errors ![]()
NOTE: For some reason after embedding the video, I couldn’t edit the blog post again so do make sure that your blog post is complete before embedding the video this way.

Thanks Udegbunam.. This is a known issue with WYSIWYG editors. Most of them really do not like objects, embeds, or scripting elements. They try to convert it into valid XHTML and it ruins the entire video tag. Thanks for giving us the workaround for Live’s editor.
And thanks for letting us know that this is probably a hitch common with most WYSIWYG editors cos I sincerely thought it was just a Windows Live Writer thingy
