I Think Adsense Competitive Filter Is Over-Rated!

Posted by Udegbunam Chukwudi On October - 2 Under Google Adsense 4 COMMENTS

It’s been almost a month since I made up my mind to join the multitude of Google Adsense Publishers using the Adsense Competitive filter and I must say I’m somewhat of pissed and frustrated.

Ever since I implemented the list I got from Ads Black List, I’ve been experiencing the following problems on my blog.

  1. Too many blank ad spaces on my blog.
  2. Not even a single click on the ads that Adsense manages to deliver.

It’s as though included in the Ads Black list generated list of MFA sites are basically 80% of the sites from which Google serves ads to my blog.

I’ve since decided to end the use of the competitive filter feature and hopefully I’ll be back to getting those precious clicks and cents/dollars per click.

Have you ever used the Adsense Competitive Filter feature? What has been your experience with it?. Do please share with us. Thanks.

I do use it but I've never had any problems. I'm going to erase the list to see what happens.

    • @Asswass: There's no reason to erase the list if it's working for you. Leave it as it is. Coincidentally just yesterday, I got tired (again) of seeing $0.01 adsense earning so I'm contemplating giving the filter another try.

P.S: Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I haven't tried the Adsense competitive filter, but I have to say that on my Internet Marketing blog I get the least amounts of clicks on my Adsense ads anyway - I think that people who read Internet marketing blogs are just aware of what Adsense is and might even avoid to click on the ads, or simply are not seeing them any more as much as anybody else might.

    • @Petra: The clicks on my own end have been increasing gradually everyday as I'm rotating adsense positions to find the best formula that works for my site. In a few weeks to come, I'll be giving the adsense competitive filter another try to see if it still works or not.
